Saguaro National Park

02/13/08 and 02/17/08

Saguaro National Park is divided into two districts, separated by about 30 miles and the city of Tucson, Arizona. The original district is east of Tucson and the second district is just west of Tucson. I spent a day in each district. The park was created to protect the saguaro cactus. The saguaro is one of the iconic images of the desert southwest. They can live to be 175 to 200 years old and can grow to 50 feet and weigh 8 tons
