I visited a friend and former co-worker Al and his wife Ginny, who live a little north of Fort Lauderdale. Al likes to photograph as well and he suggested we go to a local attraction called Butterfly World. Butterfly World has several aviaries containing butterflies, hummingbirds, and other exotic birds. So we wandered around these aviaries for a couple of hours and snapped quite a few photographs.
Unfortunately, it was mid afternoon when we went. So the lighting was pretty harsh and there were lots of shadows. So it was tough to get photographs with nice even lighting. Also, on hindsight, I should've bought the guidebook. Now I have a bunch of photos of butterflies and birds that I can't identify. I also can't find them in my guidebooks since many of them are not native to North America. I was able to identify some of them from signs in the aviaries, but most of them are not identified. Feel free to let me know of any butterflies and birds that you can identify.
