Everglades National Park

01/26/09 - 01/28/09

The Everglades have several locations that provide for some amazing wildlife viewing opportunities during this time of year. It's the dry season, so the wildlife congregates at available water sources. Several of these sources are along trails that provide easy access. Through the years, the wildlife has become used to having people around. So they go about their everyday business without paying attention to the people watching them. You can be standing there and have a heron or egret walk right past you within 10 feet. You can walk past a sunbathing alligator and it won't even open its eyes to check you out. These photographs were taken at the Anhinga Trail and Eco Pond.
