Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge

02/08/11 - 03/08/11

Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is adjacent to the Kennedy Space Center. It has always been one of my favorite wildlife refuges. The Black Point Wildlife Drive is a seven mile one-way drive within the refuge. It runs along some canals that provides good wildlife viewing among some canals and impoundments.

In the month that I spent in this area, I made five visits. Unfortunately, the wildlife was not as abundant as in past years. However, there was always enough wildlife around for some photo opportunities.
