More Mascoutah Flora and Fauna

01/27/12 - 03/23/12

I'm finally getting back on the road for a bit. But, before I leave, here's a few photos from the past two months since my last posting. Again, I haven't spent much time on photography, but I did spend some time trying to photograph the local wildlife. With the mild winter temperatures, I was even able to do some flower photography in February.

I tried to do more action shots this time. I tried capturing the birds flying around the bird feeders. I also set up a perch near one of the feeders and put my camera on a tripod nearby with a wireless remote shutter release. With this setup, I was able to sit on my mom's porch and get some decent close-up bird portraits. One afternoon, my sister called me and said she had a photo opportunity for me. She found a snake eating a toad in her backyard. So I went over to her house and was able to get some photos before the snake had completely swallowed the toad.
