wabaskang Lake

08/17/13 - 08/23/13

I spent a week camping at Sleepy Dog Cabins and fishing on Wabaskang Lake. I have some friends, Tom and Helen, that live next door to the camp and I was able to spend some quality fishing time and quality fish eating time with them. Helen is also into photography so we got in some quality photographic time as well at Tom's fishing expense. But he's used to it.

There were lots of loons with chicks on the lake and they didn't seem to mind us being around. Also, one day Tom took the fish remains from the fish cleaning house at the camp out to an island where they dump them. Helen and I went out ahead of time and anchored the boat nearby. We got our cameras clicking away as many eagles came looking for a free meal.

Sleepy Dog Cabins has the best cabins and best boats I've seen in my 30+ years of coming to Canada. They also have some RV spots which works for me. Check them out if you're headed this way.

I'd like to thank Tom and Helen and the Sleepy Dog owner Tom and Marg for making my stay a most enjoyable one. See you all next year.
