Black Hills, South Dakota

09/25/13 - 10/02/13

The plan was to stay in the Black Hills for a week and then go to the Badlands for a week. However, after the week in the Black Hills, the idiots in Congress shut down the government which caused Badlands National Park to be closed. Also, another snowstorm was brewing, so I decided to head back to Illinois. It turned out to be a yet another good decision since areas of the Black Hills got up to 48 inches of snow shortly after I left.

While in the Black Hills, I visited Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, and Custer State Park. Nearly all the wildlife photos below were taken in the park. Some of them aren't the best photos (a couple were taken fom the RV at 30-35 MPH), but at least you can see the wide variety of wildlife I saw in the park. I saw even more wildlife than I show here, but I was unable to get photos of everything.
