Florida Birds Photography Workshop - Birds Flying, Nesting, etc

03/02/14 - 03/07/14

I took a six day photography workshop from Don Mamosser Photography. The workshop focused mainly on the birds of Florida. We visited Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge, the Venice Rookery, the Shark Valley region of the Everglades National Park, Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary and several other spots. I'd like to thank Don and Anya for organizing a fun workshop. I'd also like to thank the other participants of the workshop for their inspiration through their awesome photos.

I've decided to break up the photos from this workshop into three web pages. This second page contains photos of birds flying, nesting, and doing whatever else birds do.

One of the places we visited was the Venice Rookery. It is a small island in a small lake that has many nesting birds. The birds were in various stages from building nests, to sitting on eggs, to feeding very young birds, to feeding young birds that look close to being ready to fend for themselves. Throughout the workshop, I was trying to photograph more than just bird portraits. So I spent a lot a time trying to capture the birds doing something more than just standing there.
