Thaddeus Lake - Scenery

5/20/17 - 6/01/17

I spent two weeks at Thaddeus Lake Lodge. Unfortunately, the weather and the fishing was not the best. To me, fishing is supposed to be a fun exprience. But it's no fun at all when it's 45 degrees, with winds gusting up to 25 MPH, and raining. So there were four days when I never even went out on the water. When I did get out on the water, the fishing was pretty tough. Because of the varying weather they've had all year, the fish were not in their typical patterns. But I still hade a good time and caught enough fish to keep me happy.

This photo set contains photos I took of the scenery during my stay. With the bad weather, there were a few opportunities to catch some drarmatic skies There was one night with just a little bit of aurora borealis action. One fun experience was watching a water bomber use the lake for a half dozen or so practice runs. It would come in low, scoop up water, dump it in the forest, and then come around and do it all over again. I've seen them scoop up water several times now, but I've never seen them dump the water. They always do it out of sight.

The preceding photo set contains some wildlife shots from my stay here.
