Chaco Culture National Historical Park

09/22/19 - 09/27/18

I was in Chaco Culture National Historical Park for a night photography workshop. We spent four nights in the park. Thanks to Lance and Matt for an excellent workshop.

Chaco Culture is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that protects structures of the ancestral Pueblo culture. These structures were built between 850 and 1250 and was a center for ceremonies, trade, and political activity. This area was a hub of a vast cultural complex that dominated the southwestern U.S. for nearly four centuries.

The road to access the ruins closes at sunset. But we were granted special permission to enter and photograph the ruins, albeit under the watchful eye of a ranger.
