Boat Trips

06/20/19 and 06/24/19

I went on two boat trips while in Newfoundland.

The first boat trip was out of Twillingate. Twillingate is well known as a place to see icebergs during the spring and early summer. There's also a decent chance to see whales. Unfortunately, the icebergs came early this year and most had already passed by the town. There was only one iceberg within reach of the boat trip and there were no whales. The first thirteen photos are from this trip.

The second boat trip was out of Bay Bulls and went to the Witless Bay Ecological Preserve. The main feature of the preserve is an island where tens of thousands of birds nest. The birds include puffins, murres, razorbills, saegulls, and a few other varieties. Whales and dolphins also frequent the waters in the area. It was clear when we left the dock, but it was very foggy when we reached the island. We saw one whale on the trip out. We saw tons of birds, but the photos aren't the best because of the foggy conditions. The remaining twenty-seven photos are from this trip.
