Avian Adventures - Arizona Sonora Desert Museum

12/03/20 - 03/02/21

I spent three months in Tucson to avoid the winter weather. When in Tucson, the museum is my favorite place to go. With the COVID pandemic in full swing, the museum had restirctions on how many people could enter and you had to have advance reservations. Also, my favorite thing at the museum, the raptor free flight show, was cancelled. So I didn't come here as often as I usually do. But I did make a few visits.

To compensate some for the cancelation of the raptor free flight show, the museum introduced a program called Avian Adventures. The program was limited to six people per day and cost a fee. I signed up twice for the program. The program consisted of being able to get close to a Great Horned Owl. Then you get to have an Eurasian Eagle Owl fly to a glove on your hand several times. They then have a family of four Harris' Hawks fly around you.
