Wabaskang Lake - Waterfowl

06/02/23 - 08/29/23

I spent three months (minus a 10 day trip back to Illinois for a wedding) at Sleepy Dog Cabins on Wabaskang Lake in northwestern Ontario. This is one a my favorite places to visit.

This gallery contains photos of the many other birds that hang around the lake and surrounding forest. A fun happening this summer was a pair of barn swallows building a nest in the boat house. They were constantly buzzing in and out. There's a chair by tehe door I sit in a lot. I had to get used to having them buzz within a few feet of me. Another fun part was when the eggs hatched and there were six youngsters. When they finally started flying from the nest, they would just fly out to the dock and sit and watch the world go by. I would sit in that chair just feet from them and watch as the parents came to feed them.

You can find other photos from this stay in other galleries.
